Stop this Evil of Human sacrifice

It's sad, primitive and barbaric. It started as a joke but it has now grown to unmanageable proportions and if we do not act quickly, the human race is bound for extinction.
What am i talking about? It's the primitive act of human sacrifice that has recently engulfed our society. In Uganda here, it started with the missing children from upcountry towns; these were suspected to have escaped to Kampala to wander on the streets or act as house-helps. The searches mounted yielded nothing and soon parents "wrote" them off and the story continued to other households. This was a joke, so people thought but my dear it's not, it's actually real! We have beasts in form of human beings who are all out to exterminate the human race.
It started with children but has now extended to even older people. we are no longer at liberty to move without fear because you never know when the "beasts" will strike again. We no longer trust anybody because we are not sure of who is a beast and who is not! Villages are awash with news of kidnappings, people live in too much fear. What has happened to our society? Where are the human values we are supposed to observe? What happened to the religious commandments of "Love your neighbour as you love yourself" and "do not kill"? where are we heading to?
I, like very many people out there, are puzzled as to how this p[practice has engulfed our society but most puzzling of all is why?
It's been said that most of this has been fueled by the growing impatience is amassing riches. To this the witchdoctors have taken it upon themselves to demand for "challenging sacrifices" from those interested in those riches. Thus, it's been said that it's common for the witchdoctors to ask for human heads, genitals and other parts of the body hoping that that person will not find such and keep returning to the shrine, bringing money as well. To their surprise, money can buy anything these days, including human life and here we have a stinking practice of human sacrifice.
My puzzlement continues. Are we heading for the proverbial end of the world? I must confess that i am not a regular reader of the Bible but during my many visits to church on Sundays i have at least heard sermons like......." towards those days, man will turn against man, husband against wife, children against parents" and so on! Should i assume these are the days?? Well, i do not want to believe that.
In my opinion, this practice has been fueled by human greed. We look at amassing wealth(which come with power) in the shortest possible time as the only solution. We are so pre-occupied with ourselves that we see others as mere objects without any value. We have lost our morals and love for our neighbour. No wonder people no longer visit others on holidays! Self-centredness has engulfed us and practices like this are the end result.
The situation has not been helped by the insensitivity of our leaders who are only concerned about their stay in power by all means. All they care about is how to manipulate the remaining citizens to vote for them at the next election. No wonder some of them have even been mentioned to have visited witch doctor's shrines! You never know they could have carried with them a human head or two or someone's genitals. Worse still, the leaders who are supposed to champion the fight against this barbaric act are the strongest believers in those practices. Take for example the recent reports that the President of Gambia "imported" witchdoctors to his country to supposedly establish who killed his aunt suspected to have been bewitched. What kind of a leader is that? Many people have been forced by the presidential guard and police to drink untested herbs and reports coming from their indicate that many have suffered kidney problems and other complications. How is society supposed to operate when the "so-called" leaders are the tormentors of the human race? I am feeling sad.
I cannot stop ranting about this practice because my heart is heavy with grief for those who have lost their lives because of the greedy beasts we live with, sympathy for those who've lost dear ones and anger at those who are in positions of responsibility and continue to watch and day by day human lives are lost because of this evil practice.
I'll however, conclude with a consolation that the time will come when we shall all stand before our creator to account for what we did and how we Publish Postdid it.
May the Good Lord here our cries and come to our rescue. Amen.
